Members of Congress report their stock trades a median of 23 days late
U.S. House members must disclose a stock trade within 45 days. We measure the gap between the trade and the public filing for every periodic transaction report we read. If you copy these trades, this is how old they are when you first see them.

Company insiders are much faster
Officers and directors file SEC Form 4 within two business days. In the same data: median 2 days, 97.6 % within 7 days (3682 filings). A member of Congress's trade is usually weeks old; an insider's is days old.
What this means if you copy trades
By the time a House trade is public, the price has had about 3 weeks to move. Any return you read in a headline usually starts from the trade date, not from the day you could have acted.
Kairon measures every return from the first close after the filing became public, the first price you could actually have traded at.
A late filing is a fact from an official record, not proof of wrongdoing. We show no names here and make no claims about intent.

Method
Source: periodic transaction reports from the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives (disclosures-clerk.house.gov), read by Kairon Radar. Insider comparison: SEC EDGAR Form 4.
Delay = filing date minus trade date, in calendar days, one value per reported transaction.
Not counted: 22 House lines where the filing date lies before the trade or more than 365 days after it (almost always a misread year in the PDF).
